Business News: Rumored unveiling of iPad mini

Posted: Updated:

(CNN) - Now that the iPhone 5 buzz has quieted, there's a new Apple product rumor that could take over the spotlight. A major Apple investor tells Fortune magazine that he's heard from multiple sources that a smaller version of the iPad will soon be released. The investor says invitations to the unveiling of the near-eight-inch screen tablet go out on October 10th. If that's the case, Fortune reports, the smaller iPad could hit stores in time for the Christmas shopping season. Apple is not giving any clues if there is truth to the rumors.

(CNN) - Facebook is rolling out a redesigned Help Center and a new way to track complaints. The social networking site says the help page makes it easier for users to find what they're looking for. It features major topics, including one to "See What's New on Facebook," and a list of popular questions. The site also made its "Support Dashboard" available to all users. That allows users to track the progress of any complaints they make to the site.

(CBS) - The parent of cellphone company T-Mobile USA says it is in talks to buy smaller rival Metro PCS Communications. If a deal is reached, analyst say it could help the two struggling smaller players in the U.S. wireless industry.
