(CBS/CNN) - If you need your daily fix of soft drinks, soon there will be more to think about when hitting the vending machine.  Three of the leading soft-drink companies will start rolling out vending machines that display calorie counts next year.

The machines will also remind consumers to consider lower-calorie drinks.  The new machines will launch in Chicago and San Antonio before going out nationally.

A fast food industry magazine gives top marks to Chick-fil-A for getting orders right 92% of the time, along with top scores for customer service and cleanliness.  But Wendy's was the fastest by far, completing drive-thru orders in an average of two minutes and ten seconds.  That's 20 seconds faster than Taco Bell, which ranked number two for speed.  Burger King had the lowest scores in both accuracy and speed, getting orders right 83% of the time.  McDonald's and the burger chain, Krystal finished in the middle of the group.

General Motors is planning to hire up to 10-thousand new workers in the U.S.  GM will be looking for software programmers to develop applications and devices to put into its vehicles.  The car maker will open new tech centers in Austin and a Detroit suburb, along with two other locations.

Senator Dianne Feinstein is calling for a federal investigation into gas prices in California because she doesn't think the spike in prices is related to supply and demand.  Drivers in California are paying an average of $4.67 a gallon, the highest in the nation.
