Halloween spending on pet costumes up

(CNN) - You might call it a sign of economic growth. But you can definitely call it a sign people love their pets.

Costumes will cost Americans 370-million dollars, this year. That's right. Americans will spend 370-million dollars on costumes for their pets. That's up 19-percent from 2011.


According to a survey conducted by the National Retail Federation, pumpkins will be the most popular pet costumes. "Devil" will be the second-most popular pet costume.
Also among the most popular costumes are dogs dressed up as cats and cats dressed up as dogs.
