UPDATE: Investigators identified Echols' alleged victim Thursday as 27-year-old Michele Allen from Harleton, TX.

SMITH COUNTY (KYTX) -- The Texas Department of public safety is trying to find a man investigators say crashed a pickup truck into a tree, killing a woman, then took off.  It happened around 5:30 Wednesday evening. DPS says 33-year-old Justin Echols of Diana crashed a white truck into a tree on CR 217 and FM 850 around 5:30 Wednesday night.  They say the truck was transporting an ATV and Echols got on it and drove away before ditching it 300 yards away and running off.

DPS planned to call in search dogs to find Echols.  He's a white man with some facial hair, a medium build, wearing a green button-down shirt and blue jeans.  Call Smith County Crime stoppers at 903-597-2833 if you know where Echols might be.
