UPDATE: A mother and daughter found dead in their west Longview apartment on Wednesday were killed by gunshot wounds, and the mother's ex-husband is who investigators want to talk to, according to Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Arthur Fort.

Fort said investigators told him this morning that autopsy results determined that 28-year-old La Toya Nichole Reese and her daughter, 11-year-old Mya Rosetta Nichol Sebron, died from gunshot wounds. It was not known how many gunshot wounds to each victim, Fort said.

"That's all they would tell me," Fort said.

Reese and her daughter moved to the 100 block of Jester Court, where their bodies were found, in September.

The Pine Tree ISD family is deeply saddened by the loss of one of our students.  The school district's crisis management procedures are in place to help children with their reactions to this tragedy.

As part of our crisis management plan, we have provided school counselors to meet with students this morning and throughout the day, in the student's classroom.  And counselors will be available throughout the week to help our students, faculty, and staff cope with this terrible tragedy.

Parents have been notified through a letter to contact the school should they have questions or concerns about their own son or daughter as they process the news about one of their classmates.

LONGVIEW (KYTX) - The two bodies found inside a Longview duplex in the 100 block of Jester Circle Wednesday evening have been identified.

According to Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Arthur Fort, the woman found is 28-year-old La Toya Nichole Alex Reese and the child is her 11-year-old daughter.
