(CBS) - The death toll from a rare fungal form of meningitis tied to tainted steroid injections is rising again.
The government now says 14 people have died and 170 people have been sickened in the meningitis outbreak. The CDC says there are still about 2- thousand people who received the steroid to treat back pain.
The steroids, which have now been recalled, were shipped to facilities in 23 states. They were used starting on May 21st.
