ANDERSON COUNTY (KYTX) - The body found in the woods on private property Sunday in Anderson County belongs to a mid-30's white female.

Anderson Count is working to follow up any leads with Smith County and Texas Rangers.

 


 

ANDERSON COUNTY (KYTX) - Anderson County Sheriff Chief Deputy Troy Black confirms with KYTX CBS 19 that human remains were found in the woods on private property Sunday.

The landowner found the decomposed remains on the property off of 155 near FM 321.

Deputy Black says due to the decomposition of the body it is undetermined what race, sex or age of the body.

Officers believe the body could have been there from 4 days to a month. The autopsy report is due back in approximately two days of which more details will be available.

Black says from preliminary investigation the body does not currently fit the description of any known missing people in Anderson County.

Anderson County Sheriff's Office, Anderson County District Attorney, and the Texas Rangers are investigating the case.
