TYLER (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - Tyler police detectives are investigating a second case involving a woman who presented a badge in plain clothes and stole a Hispanic male's wallet.

The incident occurred at D&N Grocery on West Bow Street on Sunday, Oct. 7. The female suspect asked for $10, and when she was told no, she presented a badge and identified herself as a police officer. The suspect took the victim's wallet out of his pants and then left in a small grey Nissan car.
Last evening, a Hispanic male was at 5030 Highway 31 West, a car wash, when he was approached by a female claiming to be a police officer, police said.

The victim stated that an unknown white female with short brown hair, possibly in her 40s, approximately 5-feet-5 and 130 pounds, approached him as he was parked near the car vacuums.

She presented a badge that led him to believe that she was a police officer. She informed him that she was going to search his car or he was going to be arrested. After searching his car, she stole a few unknown items from him. She then left in a dark colored compact vehicle. There is no other information available at this time.

Anyone with information about the suspects involved in this crime is urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833). Crimestoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and charges filed against the suspects in this case or any felony case.
