Temple Man Turns Trash Into Extravagant Halloween Decorations

Posted: Updated:

This could be one of the most creative Halloween decorations you'll see all year and it's right here in Central Texas.

A Temple man has turned trash and leftover scraps into one of the most detailed pieces of art work, that has neighbors in awe.

Andy Bagrowski's been working for the past five months on his annual Halloween horror scene.

"This here is just King Kong cause I always liked King Kong," said Halloween horror scene artist Andy Bagrowski.

Each year the multi-talented artist comes up with a different theme for his yard, leaving neighbors wondering what this year's theme is going to be.

"It was a mess, card board everywhere, sticks laying out, tubes laying out, and I didn't know what he was going to do with it. Then as it progressed and little things started coming together you know just unbelievable," said neighbor Toby Teeters.

Using scraps from his neighbors and local business, Bagrowski said the majority of his scene is made with, card board, styrofoam, and pieces of old wood.

"I get dumpster treasure, constructions site treasure anything that anybody throws away ends up here," said Bagrowski.

And as the saying goes, "one man's trash is another man's treasure."

"The kids love it, the neighbors love it, everybody loves it," said Teeters.

"The people are just so gracious, they stop by, they take pictures, we talk, it's wonderful," said Bagrowski.

But unfortunately for everyone who loves seeing this each year, this might be their last.

"I'll be 60 this year and it takes a lot to do something like this," said Bagrowski.

But Andy said hopefully with the help of the community and neighbors, they can all pitch in and make it happen again.

"There's an old saying, 'die as young as you can at an old age,' and there's nothing wrong with being young, and that's what I am, I'm a kid," said Bagrowski.

Bagrowski said all are welcome at his home.

If you'd like to check out the Halloween horror scene, it's at 4315 Old Waco Road in Temple, near the South Pea Ridge intersection.
