Arrest made in Federal Reserve terror plot

Posted: Updated:

NEW YORK (CBS) - One person is in jail and authorities say more arrests could be coming in a foiled plot to blow up the Federal Reserve Building in New York.

Authorities say Quazi Nafis, a Bangladeshi native, was arrested in a sting operation. The FBI claims they provided Nafis with a fake bomb. Authorities say he packed a van with what he believed to be a one-thousand pound bomb and traveled with an undercover agent to the bank, where he tried to set it off using a cell phone detonator.

Authorities say the public was never in danger. Nafis faces life in prison for attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction.
