EAST TEXAS (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - The former roommate of a man accused of killing an East Texas man in 1999 testified in court Thursday he saw the accused and the victim together on the day of the alleged killing.

Aaron Vaughn, the man whose car Shams Emil Masters, 34, borrowed to allegedly kill William Young, told jurors this morning that he and Masters, who shared a duplex together in early 1999, told Young to stop coming around their home.
Young, known as "Kilo", sold crack and other drugs to Vaughn and Masters. Vaughn testified he wanted to get his life on track and that all of the utilities had been turned off there.

Vaughn said Young continued to come around.

In mid February, Vaughn testified that he saw Masters and Young drive off in his car, but only Masters came back.
When Vaughn asked what happened, Masters responded "he won't be bothering us anymore."

Vaughn testified when the police came by several days later, that Masters grew very nervous and told Vaughn not to tell them that Young did not return with Masters.
