Child Protective Services approves new home for Kimbley kids

Posted: Updated:

Jake Kimbley's siblings are one step closer to getting a permanent home after remaining in foster care since August.

Jake was found dead in a septic tank belonging to David and Sabrina Kimbley, his parents, on August 22nd. Child Protective Services removed five other children from that home, saying that it was dirty and roach-infested.

After that a family friend offered up her home and herself to care to for them permanently. Child Protective Services gave that plan its initial approval on Wednesday.

"These children have been through an awful lot," Smith County 321st District Judge Carole Clark said. "They've been exposed to an awful lot."

Clark plans to make a final ruling on a permanent home for those kids in February of 2013. The criminal trial, in which their parents are charged with child endangerment, is set for November 26th.
