EXCLUSIVE: Henderson man killed in hit and run accident

Posted: Updated:

HENDERSON (KYTX) - 25-year-old Brandon Bing from Henderson is killed in a hit and run accident. CBS 19 spoke exclusively to Brandon Bing's wife, April, who is asking for your help in finding out who hit him early last Friday morning.

DPS troopers say it happened on FM 323 in Henderson, at about 2:20 a.m. on October 12. That road connects Henderson to Overton. Brandon's family and friends say the street has become more and more busy over the years, even around 2:00 a.m., which was when Brandon was hit.

Bright orange paint still stains the road, where Brandon was hit.

"When you were around him, he always made you laugh.

Brandon left his house around 2 a.m. to blow off steam, and decided to walk to his friend's house down the road. That's when a car came up the street.

His wife April says, "He was walking back my way, and it hit him, and it killed him instantly."

She found out what happened, hours later, at 6:00 a.m.

She still can't understand why the driver who hit her husband, didn't stop.

"If it was an accident it was an accident," she says, "but if you know anything just come forth. It's better for me to know and for my son to know."

Brandon leaves behind a 3-year-old son.

"I would get my phone and he would say 'Can you call my Daddy so I can talk to him?' I just tell him, your Daddy is in heaven visiting Grandpa, and we'll see him one day. That's really all that I can tell him," April says.

April says her husband's pride and joy was their son.

"That's what he was about," she says. "Just family oriented."

It's for her son's sake, she's praying the community will come forward with anything they know.

"That's really what I want, is justice."

Justice, and closure, so she and her family can begin to deal with their loss.

Family members tell CBS 19 that investigators have sent Brandon's clothes that he was wearing at the time of the accident, to the lab to see if there's any remnants that could lead them to who hit him.

Brandon's funeral was earlier this week in Jacksonville.

If you have any information about the accident, please call the Rusk County DPS office at (903) 657-0382.
