Tyler, TX (KYTX) -- A crowd packed UT Tyler's Cowan Center for the glitz and glamour. Dresses for the Rose Festival Coronation, more elaborate than what you might see on the red carpet.

"Heavily jeweled and more costume-like with big head pieces," Suzanne Curtis, who's been involved with the Rose Festival before, said.

Curtis knows the work that goes into the gowns."They do go through the whole process of making sure that nobody's dress looks like anyone else. So some of them do get them custom-made," Curtis said.

A committee actually approves each dress to ensure each one is unique. And the Asian touches are making younger eyes wanting to one day follow suit.
