LONGVIEW (KYTX) - The city of Longview says the extension of a busy east-west road could open in about two months.

Developers of the Hamptons at Longview are building a three-lane road with sidewalks to extend Hawkins Parkway about three-quarters mile east to Tryon Road.

The Hamptons is building a senior living area with more than 200 independent and assisted living homes along the extension.

The city is paying $500-thousand to the Hamptons over five years to build the extension.
