Nacogdoches Police Department:
NACOGDOCHES (KYTX) - At approximately 1:58 a.m. this morning, The NPD responded with EMS and the Fire Department on a medical assist call at an apartment in the Oak Hill Plaza, located in the 1500 block of Dolph Street. It was learned that three people, including an 8 month old female infant, had been struck by a single gun shot.
Preliminary investigation reveals that several people were in the apartment at the time of the shooting. A 19 year old female was seated holding the infant. A 21 year old male was in the apartment, and was unloading a 9mm pistol. The pistol discharged, striking the man holding the pistol in his left hand, striking the female holding the infant in her left hand and striking the infant in the face. The projectile continued on, exiting the apartment into the residence next door, lodging in a piece of furniture. No one was injured in the adjoining apartment.
All of the injured were treated at a local hospital. The infant was transferred to a Houston hospital, in serious condition.
The investigation into this incident is continuing. No charges have been filed and no arrests have been made in this incident.
