TYLER (KYTX) - Domestic Violence Awareness month is wrapping up, but those with the East Texas Crisis Center hope their message lasts for a long time.

Tuesday night, they partnered with UT Tyler sorority Alpha Chi Omega to host a vigil in honor of all victims of domestic violence.

This event comes just days after a murder suicide near Chandler where a husband allegedly shot and killed his wife then turned the gun on himself.

The East Texas Crisis Center has served more than 1,000 people this year.
