Tyler (KYTX) - Shipmates of the CVE 18 USS Altamaha join for their 25th reunion in Tyler next week. Organizer Bob Wood believes that this could be the last time this group of seaman and family members comes together. This event is hosted for fellowship, to tour Tyler and say goodbye to old friends.
While in Tyler, this reunion will take in many of the iconic venues that make Tyler so unique. The group will tour the Municipal Rose Garden, the Historic Aviation Memorial Museum, the Oil Museum in Kilgore and finally the American Freedom Museum on the campus of The Brook Hill School.
Organizer Bob Wood says, "I am very proud of Tyler and want to show these old friends and shipmates some things they have only heard about but never thought they would ever see."
The reunion party will be stating at the Holiday Inn South Broadway and will be in Tyler from November 7-10. This event is very timely in that it will be occurring on the heels of Election Day and just prior to Veterans Day. During their stay in Tyler many of these veterans will be available for interviews. All interviews should be scheduled through Mr. Wood.
