Police search for suspect kidnapper linked to fatal shooting of ex-wife

TYLER (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - Tyler Police are searching for a suspected kidnapper linked to a fatal shooting that happened around noon today in the 3300 block of Bain Place in south Tyler.

Authorities say they are searching for James Calvert, 41, last seen driving a gray 2004 Buick LeSaber with license plates D54G858. The suspect is believed to be traveling with a boy, about three years of age, who was taken from the residence.
Authorities said the Calvert allegedly went to his ex-wife's home and shot her, taking the boy.

A second child of the deceased woman was at school and is safe.

If anyone sees the suspect vehicle authorities are asking they follow the car at a safe distance and call 9-1-1.
