Posted: Updated:

LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - A Titus County woman is jailed Thursday after bringing a loaded handgun, meth and cocaine into a Longview school zone.

Shellie Renae Weeks, 41, of Winfield, remains in the Gregg County Jail on $62,500 bond, charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of cocaine.

A Longview police detective working narcotics interdiction spotted Wiles driving a maroon Dodge Ram from a residence in the 100 block of Melba Street. The detective followed Wiles into an elementary school zone in the 11 block of Mobberly Avenue, and she was driving while talking on a cell phone, according to arrest records. During an eventual traffic stop, Wiles gave consent to search the vehicle, and the detective found the black purse with a handgun, 2.3 grams of meth and a small bag of suspected powder cocaine in the floorboard of the vehicle.
