Voters taking advantage of election day freebies

Posted: Updated:

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Yes, it's your civic duty and participating in the democratic process should be reward enough! Some people call it an abomination, others a pleasant byproduct, but there are a lot of businesses offering Election Day freebies.

Folks wearing an "I Voted" sticker can take advantage of a number of food and fun promotions and a few offers don't even require you to come in person — the benefits are available online.

Wearing an "I Voted" sticker will score you a free bagel and cream cheese at Einstein Brothers locations.

Participating Taco Bueno locations are suggesting that people "Guac the Vote". The restaurants are giving away free guacamole and chips to anyone who votes.

If you have more of sweet tooth you might want to head to a Krispy Kreme location. Voting customers there can get a free star-shaped donut.

If you're in the mood for Italian, Olive Garden is offering a free Dolicini, or little dessert treat, for anyone wearing an "I Voted" sticker and purchasing and adult entrée.

Perhaps you like your food cooked "low & slow", if that's the case Red Hot & Blue Restaurants are offering $5.00 off a meal for wearing your "I Voted" sticker.

On the Border isn't letting lovers of Mexican food miss out. After going to the poll head over to Facebook and print out an offer for a free order of On the Border sopapillas with the purchase of one or more entrées.

If you don't have any strength left, after standing in line at the poll, there are other Election Day freebie offers that might interest you.

Boston Market is closing out their "Bowl Poll" where customers vote for their favorite bowl dish. Anyone casting their vote for either chicken or turkey will receive a BOGO coupon for a free Boston Market Bowl with the purchase of one and a fountain drink.

If you place an order online at Romano's Macaroni Grill on November 6th you can save $10 off your online order of $20 or more. Just enter the promo code RMGTOGO on the checkout page.

If you can't be swayed by food, or simply want to still be able to fit into the clothes you have after November 6, Urban Outfitters is offering a 20% discount to in-store shoppers bearing an "I Voted" sticker.

And lastly, if your plans for Election Night include watching a good movie, Blockbuster is offer a free movie or game rental on November 6.  Click this link to get the coupon.
