Criddle wins Justice of the Peace Precinct 2

WOOD COUNTY (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - Wes Criddle beat two other challengers to win Precinct 2 Justice of Peace in Wood County, according to complete but unofficial voting results.

Criddle, a 22-year law enforcement veteran, received 57.74 percent of votes compared to 19.08 percent for Democrat Tiffany Dupont and 23.18 percent for Independent Lucky Bolden.

In total, Criddle received 2,309 votes, Dupont garnered 763 and Bolden received 927.

Criddle said he will give his constituents "the best I've got."

"I'd like to thank the voters for their support, and I would like to thank both Tiffany and Lucky for a clean campaign," he said. "We are all still friends."

Early voting totals showed Criddle ahead with 64.93 percent, 15.71 percent for Dupont and 19.35 percent for Bolden.

In the Precinct 3 Wood County Commissioner race, incumbent Roger Pace won his eighth term, according to complete but unofficial results.

Pace, a Republican, said he loves the people in his county and precinct and is honored to serve another four years.

"I appreciate the confidence voters have entrusted in me over the years I have served my precinct and Wood County," he said.

Pace beat his Democrat challenger O.D. Hazel with 75.42 percent of votes compared to Hazel's 24.58 percent. In total Pace received 3,584 votes to his opponent's 1,168.

Early voting totals showed Pace with 82.78 percent of the vote, or 1,846 ballots, compared to Hazel's 17.22 percent, or 384 votes.
