Longview Police Department:

LONGVIEW (KYTX) - On November 10, 2012 at 6:32 p.m., police were dispatched to a train accident with injuries on the train trestle bridge located in the 100 block of South Eastman Road.

When officers arrived they were told by witnesses that a white male, later identified as Jon Thomas Klar 40, of Longview, was laying on the railroad tracks. Police determined that the train was stationary for some time, and they believe Klar was on the train and when it began to move it appears that he attempted to get off the train car, lost his balance, and fell under the train.

Alcohol intoxication may have played a factor in this incident. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
