(KYTX) - Allison is a happy 15-year-old who enjoys cooking and wants to be a Pastry Chef when she grows up. "I like making cakes and cupcakes. I've got a recipe I want to make it's called chocolate mocha cheesecake. I love cheesecake," said Allison with a big smile.

This10th-grader enjoys school and is doing well. She also likes to swim, weld and read. "I like to read mystery books. Those are my favorite kind of books. I like Nancy Drew. I used to read them all the time."

"Allison is very sweet. I love Allison. She's happy. She's cheerful. She's a normal teenage girl," said Mandy Bryan her Child Protective Services Caseworker.

Allison has spent almost her entire life in foster care. She was removed from her home at just 3-years-old with her two older sisters. "As they aged out [of foster care] and everything I noticed I was by myself and I kind of wanted a real family."

Bryan adds, "It's hard for any kid to be abandoned and left alone and be the only one left. She's never lived in that family environment. She's always lived in a group home. So to have that normal everyday life with someone that will give her that attention."

Attention is exactly what this teenager needs as she strives to do her best during her high school years while she plans for her future.

"I feel like if I get a family there's like a purpose to it. I mean I like where I am and everything but I'd like a family better because I want a feeling of an actual family and not a family you have to share with a bunch of other kids that aren't your siblings."

Allison knows she may have to be patient, but she's hopeful. "She understands that being older it's harder to be adopted, but she's willing to be adopted if the right family comes along," said Bryan.

"I think it would make me feel whole, like one complete person... I'm at a spot where I want a family."
