Keep Tyler Beautiful:

Keep Tyler Beautiful will host Tyler Recycles Day from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 17 at the Tyler Recycling Collection Center, 418 N. Bois D'Arc Ave.

This year, Keep Tyler Beautiful and Ark-La-Tex Shredding are offering free personal document shredding. In addition, there will be a collection station for all types of batteries from Interstate All Batteries. Goodwill Industries will also be on hand to accept electronics of all types (no appliances) and to share information about their new ComputerWorks Store where they sell rebuilt computers and accessories.

Tyler Recycles Day is part of the national Keep America Beautiful Recycles Day annual event for the community to learn how to be good stewards of the environment.

"We hope that this event will help people who are new to recycling learn more about what our Recycling Center has to offer," said Keep Tyler Beautiful Board Chair Phyllis Carlyle.

Tyler residents will also be able to sign up for the City's Curbside Recycling program.

The Tyler Recycling Collection Center always accepts clear plastic bottles, plastic milk jugs, newspapers, magazines, junk mail, phone books, any type of paper, any type of cardboard, brown paper grocery bags, aluminum cans and clear, brown and green glass. The center is also accepting cell phones and eye glasses.

Daffodils that were pre-ordered in the summer as part of Project Daffodil will be available for pickup at the same time. Additional daffodils may also be purchased.
