LUFKIN (KYTX) - Suspected arsons hit the North Lufkin area again Thursday for the third day in a row, according to Lufkin Police Department officials.

About 6:30 a.m., crews responded to Owen's Club in the 800 block of Keltys Street. The back door of the building was found burned, but no other damage was reported.

In the 700 block of Cottonbelt Street, about the same time, a board was set on fire in a carport of a home.

Suspected arsons have been reported for the past two days in the same area of Lufkin, and officials are searching for suspects. Thursday mornings offenses created a total of six reports for the past three days which fire and police officials believe are incidents of arson.

Anyone with information concerning these fires or the identity of the person responsible for setting the fires can provide information anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers of Lufkin at (936) 639-TIPS or by submitting an anonymous tip at www.LufkinCrimeStoppers.com.
