TYLER ISD:
TYLER (KYTX) - Coast to Coast, a dance company out of Dallas, invited the Southern Belles to perform alongside four drill teams from schools across Texas. Laura Miller, a dance teacher at Robert E. Lee, helped choreograph the group dance for the parade.
"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for these girls," Robert E. Lee High School Drill Team Director Sarah Nash said. "It is an honor to be invited to perform, and I know the girls are going to have a great time exploring Chicago."
More than 50 girls from Robert E. Lee will make the trip to Chicago for the performance. During the week the team will go see a Broadway play and speak to a cast member. The girls will also visit museums and the Willis Tower, formerly known as the Sears Tower.
The McDonald's Thanksgiving Day Parade starts at 8 a.m. and runs until 11 a.m. The parade is aired live nationally on WGN America.
