LUFKIN (KYTX) - Lufkin Police Department Detectives will seek additional warrants for the arrest of Corey Lee Fleming for the offense of Burglary of a Habitation.

On November 06, 2012, Lufkin PD officers arrested Corey Fleming in Lufkin's Crown Colony subdivision after a witness saw Fleming in the yard of a Champions Drive residence. Fleming fled on foot from the witness but Lufkin PD officers quickly established a containing perimeter and stopped Fleming's 2001 Mercury four-door car in the 100 block of Temple Boulevard. Fleming was sweating profusely, his shoes and pants were wet from contact with the wet grass and shrubbery, and he refused to cooperate with the officers. The officers arrested Fleming for Transportation Code violations, No Driver's License and Failure to Yield Right of Way from a Private Drive, and began investigating him as a possible suspect in more than twenty burglary and attempted burglary incidents that occurred between August and November of this year at residences located throughout Lufkin.

A search of Fleming's residence, located at 1908 Pineburr Street in Lufkin, resulted in the recovery of evidence linking him to at least one recent burglary. Lufkin PD detectives sought, and a judge issued, a warrant for Flemings arrest for a September 09, 2012 burglary of a residence located at 311 York Drive in Lufkin. Fleming denied involvement in any burglary but an item found at his residence linked him to the York Drive burglary; the item had the victim's name on it. Detectives seized other items from Fleming's residence for further investigation.

Today, November 20, Lufkin PD detectives will seek two warrants for Fleming's arrest for the burglaries of residences located on Templewood Lane and Summerset Drive in Lufkin; the detectives recovered jewelry linking Corey Lee Fleming to both burglaries. From the Templewood Lane burglary, which occurred on or about November 02, 2012, the detectives recovered two bracelets. From the Summerset Drive burglary, which occurred on or about October 05, 2012, the detectives recovered a high school football championship ring belonging to Reggie McNeal.

The investigation into the burglaries will continue so that detectives may identify any other burglaries committed by Corey Fleming.
