Negotiators fail to reach cease-fire deal

Posted: Updated:

GAZA (CBS) - Fighting continues in the Gaza Strip this morning.

Negotiators have failed to reach a cease-fire deal. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is in the region trying to help broker a deal. She met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas earlier this morning. Five Israelis and more than 100 Palestinians have been killed in the fighting.

Meanwhile, an explosion hit a public bus in Tel Aviv this morning leaving nearly 2 dozen injured, 3 of them critically. Israel's ambulance service is calling this a terrorist attack. This attack comes on the eighth day of an Israeli offensive against the Gaza Strip that was launched with the aim of preventing rocket strikes from Palestine.
