Wounded Warrior Angel

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- Scott Lamarca is a wounded warrior who's starting a business to help put other wounded warriors to work when they come back from war.

One of the people helping him, is Barbara Crawford.

She's a life coach and CEO of her own business who helps Scott and other vets adapt back to non-combat life.

Scott Lamarca is a wounded vet who wants to pay it forward for other wounded vets.

Lamarca wants to start a construction business so that other wounded vets can use their talents after war.

"I never ask no for an answer and I find a way to make it happen," Lamarca says.

After many setbacks like a traumatic brain injury and PTSD, he, like many soldiers, wants help to organize his life so he can get his business off the ground.
Enter Barbara Crawford.

She's a trained life coach helping those on and off post.

She helps make the transition into civilian life productive.  She calls herself a realist, tackling the real issues of troops as they return.

Crawford says, "They need to learn life skills, how to keep their marriages together, stop the drugs, the alcoholism."

The mother of four dedicates her work to the betterment of our troops.

She says the war is far reaching beyond the past ten years even in places with no military presence.

She says the effects, if not treated can and will cause more problems than we know.

Her work with Scott is so that he can get the help he needs, get the motivation he needs, and work thru his injuries to be the best he can, so that they both can serve our wounded warriors, physically and emotionally.

She teaches them to resolve their feelings so that they know it's okay to be a out of a war zone.

She recalls one case in particular, "I have one kid I work with that's why I do this."

Scott is looking for potential candidates for his non profit and for-profit businesses.
