LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) – Whether you are an avid runner or a casual walker, the 2nd
Annual Healthy Woman Wreath Run
is something for everyone. Taking place on the Paul Boorman Trail on
Saturday, December 1st,
at 8:00 a.m., the event celebrates health and fitness, and encourages
people to get and stay fit. "We are so excited to host a
family-oriented, healthy activity to promote wellness and healthy
habits during the holidays while also raising money for such a worthy
cause," says Libby Bryson, Marketing Director for Longview Regional
Medical Center.
This
year's beneficiary is the Children's Advocacy Center of Gregg and
Harrison Counties (CACGHC), a non-profit organization whose mission
is to lessen the emotional trauma to children who have been victims
of sexual or physical abuse or witnesses to a violent crime. The
CACGHC provides forensic interviews of the children in a
child-friendly place to assist law enforcement in the investigation
and prosecution of their cases. In addition, the CACGHC coordinates
the efforts of law enforcement, child protective services,
prosecutors, counselors and therapists to provide healing and
recovery to young victims and their families. The 2nd
Annual Healthy Woman Wreath Run has received support from many local
corporations and individuals in our community.
