We live in the South, so some of us may have a Southern accent, but would you consider saying "goodbye" to "howdy, y'all"?
The Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee was going to offer a speech class for it's workers next month to do just that, until it got canceled.

(KYTX) - The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a 3-year-old boy, about 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Deputies were dispatched to a report of an unresponsive child at a home in the 3700 block of Kaliste Saloom Road.

Deputies and other first responders found the child in grave condition, and CPR was initiated immediately.  The child was transported to Women's and Children's Hospital where the child was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.  The Lafayette Parish Coroner has scheduled an autopsy on Friday to determine the cause and manner of death.

The Sheriff's Office is not releasing any specifics with regards to injuries or lack thereof or suspicions of a potential cause of death.

The identity of the child is being withheld because the biological father who is out of town has not been notified at this time; I anticipate the release of the child's name will not come today.

The address where deputies responded is not the primary address of the child and his mother, this residence was the home of the mother of the man who is dating the child's mother; initially reported as the child's stepfather but deputies have confirmed since initial reports that the male who had custody of the victim immediately prior to his death was the boyfriend of the mother.

Deputies have also confirmed that the boyfriend does not live at the Kaliste Saloom residence either.

The investigation is continuing with interviews being conducted of persons who saw the child over the past several days.
