Christmas tree farm regrown and thriving after wildfires last year

Posted: Updated:

(KYTX) - In plenty of time for Christmas, a Texas Christmas tree farm is back in business after wildfires burned thousands of acres last year.

Last year, Bastrop wildfires burned through hundreds of homes and thousands of acres worth of trees -- including the Christmas tree farm owned by the Waltersheidt family.

This year Michael Walterscheidt and his family are chopping down the regrown trees and packing them up for Christmas day.

Customers say the experience of picking out a real tree makes Christmas more special.
