ATLANTA (KYTX) - An East Texas man was arrested in connection to the death of his estranged wife and another man.

John Byron Jones, 47, was charged with capital murder and is being held in the Cass County jail in Linden.

Captain Scott Sartain says they have evidence which shows John Jones committed the crimes.

Doyle Pollard and Dyrika Jones' bodies were found late last month at Pollard's home on County Road 4683 near Atlanta.

Investigators believe the crime happened late Sunday night, but the bodies weren't discovered until the next morning by one of Pollard's co-workers who called 9-1-1.

John and Darika Jones were married, but were separated at the time of the murders. Authorities believe Darika Jones had been living with Pollard.

Sartain says both victims were found with gunshot wounds.

"We do not believe this was a random crime," explained Captain Sartain. "We do not have any information at this time which indicates that other persons of accomplices were involved."

Jones was arrested when he came to the sheriff's office for questioning Wednesday afternoon.

Investigators are still waiting on autopsy reports on the victims.
