(CBS) - Women who eat a diet loaded with fruits and vegetables could be reducing their risk of breast cancer. A new study finds micro-nutrients found in fruits and vegetables have cancer fighting properties. Researchers say the micro-nutrients keep tumors from growing.


(CBS) - There's new evidence protein may help prevent muscle loss. Boston researchers recently discovered a protein that helps muscles grow after exercise. Doctors are looking for a way to artificially increase the protein to help people who have muscle wasting diseases, including cancer.


(CBS) - Researchers at the University of California at Berkeley have pinpointed a gene that helps turn carbohydrates into fat. They found that when the gene was disabled in mice, carbs did not turn to fat. Doctors say the finding is significant because it may lead to new treatments for obesity and diabetes.
