EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - It's a cold start to this Monday. We are seeing temperatures across East Texas in the 30s and wind chills in the 20s. Highs today will only reach 45 degrees. A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect until 4 pm. Lows tonight will be VERY cold. We could get down to 24 degrees by Tuesday morning.

Remember the 3 P's: cover outside plants. If at all possible bring your animals inside, but if pets can't stay indoors - make sure their kennels face away from the wind. You can also add items like fresh hay or blankets to help them stay warm. Also, don't forget to wrap exposed pipes.
