AUSTIN (KYTX) – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has added Charles Leon Carr, 55, to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender list, and a $3,000 cash reward is now offered for information leading to his capture. In 1975, he was sentenced to 99 years in prison for the violent sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl in Abilene. He was released from prison in 2008 and disappeared in 2009. All tips can be offered anonymously.

Carr was born in New Jersey, his last known residence was in Austin, and he has ties to El Paso. He could be working in air conditioning repair, refrigerator repair, machine operation, data entry or as a laborer.  Carr's criminal history includes sexual assault of a child, transportation of unlawful aliens and theft.  He is wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service for probation violation and by the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles for Parole Violation.

Carr is 6-feet-tall and weighs about 190 pounds.  His tattoos include a skull on his outside upper right arm and skull/dagger/roses on his outside upper left arm.  He also has an operation scar on the inside of his right knee and a cut scar on his inside right hand.
