(CBS) - An aspirin a day over a long period of time might not be good for your eyesight. Researchers at the University of Wisconsin warn that people who used aspirin regularly for at least 10 years are more likely to be at risk of age-related macular degeneration, a condition that can lead to blindness. Scientists say more research is required.

(CBS) - British researchers say the commonly prescribed antibiotic Amoxicillin is ineffective for treating severe coughs, and bronchitis. A new study looked at more than 2000 adults with respiratory infections. Some received Amoxicillin and others a placebo. Researchers say there was little difference in how severe or how long the symptoms lasted between the two groups. Many patients who took the drug also suffered side-effects.
