Perry announces new jobs in Paris, Corsicana

Posted: Updated:
(KYTX) - Governor Rick Perry announced Thursday the creation of almost 400 jobs in Paris and 200 in Corsicana.

Perry said the James Skinner Baking Co. is creating a new bakery production facility in Paris, along with 393 jobs and $25 million in capital investment. The state is providing $1.8 million through the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) to close the deal on this job creation. The governor was joined by company President Audie Keaton, Paris Mayor Dr. A.J. Hashmi and State Rep. George Lavender for the announcement.

Perry also helped break ground on a new 150,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility for Pactiv LLC. This multimillion dollar capital investment will expand Pactiv's current Corsicana operations and create 200 jobs. Earlier this fall, Gov. Perry announced the state would invest $930,000 through the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) to finalize this expansion in Texas.
