LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Detective Hilton from the Vernon Parish Jail in Louisiana told me Andrew Conrad Norwine, the man police say is the third and final suspect in this capital murder case, signed a waiver of extradition Wednesday afternoon and will be transported to back to East Texas within 10 days. People in Longview say they're glad the suspects in jail and off the streets -- but they're still shocked by the crime."

"Capital murder, wheeew how old were those kids?

Sarah Haslam is 20, Daniel Paul Jones, 19 and Andrew Conrad Norwine is 21.

Longview police say on December 4th, after trying to cash a check under Ronnie Joe Gammage's account at Gilmer National Bank in Gilmer, the three kidnapped the 27 year-old mentally challenged man from a Longview Waffle House. Police say they took him to a rural Upshur County area where they murdered him and left his body for 2 weeks.

Norwine was arrested Tuesday morning at fort Polk where he was stationed in the army. But police say Haslam and Jones, who they found last week thanks to the bank surveillance video, confessed to police and lead them to his body.

Kirk Venters rides the LongviewTtransit day and night. He says it makes him uneasy knowing that police say people in his community were willing to team up and take a life.

"Don't be by yourself, and just be aware."

"In Longview we don't see a lot of homicides and very rarely do we see aggravated kidnapping, so this was kind an unusual case for us."

Kristie Bryan with Longview police says detectives finished their investigation and do not believe anyone else is involved.

"There were four people in the car in the bank video however we determined there were 3 at this point that we know of that were actually participating in the aggravated kidnapping and subsequent murder."

Those who knew him like Macy Marshall who waited on him at Fast Freddy's, want justice.

"They should be prosecuted to the full extent."

Police say they are just waiting for Norwine's transfer to Gregg County so they can interview him and turn the case over to the districts attorney.
