Funeral held Friday morning for former Texas Ranger Glenn Elliott

UPDATE: Funeral service for Former Texas Ranger Glenn Elliott was held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Worship Center of Alpine Church of Christ in Longview.

Elliott died Monday at his home.

Elliott's career includes work with the Texas Department of Public Safety where he was promoted to Texas ranger in 1961.

 


 

UPDATE: January 2, 2013 LONGVIEW (KYTX) - Former Texas Ranger and long-time Longview resident Glenn Elliott will be laid to rest 10 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2013, at the Worship Center of Alpine Church of Christ on Loop 281 in Longview.

The public is invited to a visitation with the family from 5-7 p.m. tomorrow at Radar Funeral Home on Judson Road.

 


 

LONGVIEW (KYTX) - A long-time resident of Longview and former Texas Ranger, Glenn Elliott, passed away Monday morning at his home in Longview, according to Gregg County Judge Bill Stoudt.

Elliott's career includes work with the Texas Department of Public Safety where he was promoted to Texas ranger in 1961.

Elliott also authored two books about his service as a Texas Ranger.

"Glenn Elliott was a great asset for East Texas and will be missed," said Judge Stoudt.

In October of 2011, a baseball field at Longview's Lear Park was named after Elliott in recognition of his outstanding achievements in law enforcement.
