First Presbyterian Church continues its fine arts series with Queen Elizabeth I

TYLER (KYTX) - First Presbyterian Church of Tyler continues its fine arts series by welcoming Queen Elizabeth I (1533-1603) in the person of Felicity Enas. She will re-create the monarch in full costume at 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, in the church chapel at 230 West Rusk Street, Tyler, sharing her life in Elizabethan England. To welcome her majesty, tea will be served in the parlor following her presentation. There is no charge for admission, as the church brings these events in the performing arts as a gift to the community. Parking for the Fine Arts Series is available in the lot south of the church. 

A native of Harrogate in Yorkshire, Ms. Enas has become a Texan while retaining her British diction and knowledge. Her presentations of England's first Elizabeth as a living, dynamic woman has made history come alive in schools through East Texas. 

A talented costumer as well as actor and director, Ms. Enas is the creative director of Actors Preparatory Exchange (APEX), where she teaches acting for stage and film. She is currently directing rehearsals for two shows: Red Hot Patriot, on the APEX stage in January, and The 39 Steps at the Liberty Theatre in March. She appears as Queen Elizabeth I under the auspices of The Slightly Amusing Theater Company, in which she is part of Mother Goose and Friends educational theater for children. 

The event following Ms. Enas' appearance will be The Daisy Project, a concert reading of Alfred Uhry's play, Driving Miss Daisy, on February 17. On March 16 the Tyler Civic Chorale and the chancel choir of First Presbyterian will sing Maurice Duruflé's Requiem, conducted by Donald Duncan.
