(KYTX) - A Diana man involved in a fatal wreck in October has been charged with criminally negligent homicide.

Justin Echols, 30, was charged Dec. 20 in the death of Michelle Allen, 27, of Harleton.

The wreck occurred Oct. 10 on CR 217, north of FM 850 in Smith County. Echols reportedly fled the scene of the wreck and was originally charged with an accident involving injury or death, a third-degree felony.

Echols was driving a truck and lost control going around a curve, hitting a tree. He fled on an ATV and then on foot, after wrecking the ATV.
