LONGVIEW/GREGG COUNTY (KYTX) - Longview fire crews were busy during first week of the New Year, including a Monday morning house fire that displaced five people.

At or around 10:50 p.m. on Friday, fire crews responded to a structure fire at 1212 Twelfth St. The fire is under investigation as a possible arson fire. No one was injured, as the residence was not occupied at the time of the fire.

At 7:13 p.m. Saturday, fire crews responded to a structure fire at 210 Goodnight Trail. The fire started in a corner next to the fire place which was in use. The fire vented out the window and burned into the attic and then fire entered the attic space. The exact cause has not yet been determined.  The three occupants of the residence were home at the time of the fire, but no one was injured as a result of the fire. The fire cause approximately $ 30,000 in damage.

At 8:58 p.m. Saturday, the weekend's third structure fire occurred at 505 Louisiana St. On arrival fire crews found fire coming out of two of the bed room windows where the fire originated. The cause of the fire was a heater. The fire displaced four residents, which were directed to the Red Cross. The fire caused approximately $15,000 in damage. No injuries reported as a result of this fire.

At 7:22 this morning, fire crews responded to 2317 Thirteenth St. for a structure fire. On arrival fire crews found fire in the central heater closet and attic of the home. No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries to firefighters. The fire did minimal damage to the contents of the home and approximately $12,000 damage to the structure. The fire started in the central heat closet and extended into the attic. This fire displaced two adults and three children, ages 12, 10 and 4. The Red Cross was notified and will provide assistance.
