A loved and respected professor --- tragically lost in a motorcycle accident Friday night.

"Dr. Siniak was a great teacher, he was awesome. He went beyond his job."

37-year old professor Valentyn Siniak died Friday night... After Marshall Police say he crashed into a truck on his motorcycle.

The truck was turning north onto loop 390 and siniak was traveling west on Highway 80 when the crash happened.

For this student, It is a hard reality to swallow.

"It's horrible, it's horrible... it's hitting hard because he was one of my favorite professors." - Barnett

The Ukrainian first began teaching in the U.S. at East Texas Baptist University in 2004. He began at Wiley in 2006 and has been there ever since.

He was an assistant professor of biology at Wiley and students say he spent hours upon hours with them after classes were over.

He did everything he could to impart his knowledge of science to them.

you could walk into the science building and be depressed. Once you saw Dr. Siniak he would say something that would instantly put you in a better mood. And to know he's not gonna be here is hard" - Barnett

Wiley College is bringing in grief counselors to help students and staff cope with the tragic loss.
