Showers, thunderstorms expected through Wednesday across East Texas

UPDATE: EAST TEXAS (KYTX) - Rain began this morning with a few embedded thunderstorms across East Texas. We will see a near 100% chance of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon through Wednesday night with a 50% chance Thursday morning.

The rain is expected to end by Thursday afternoon but only for about 24 hours. Showers and thunderstorms will return Friday night and linger through Sunday. Temperatures will be warmer than normal through Saturday with lows mostly in the 50s and highs from the mid 60s to the low 70s.

Colder weather will roll in Sunday with lows in the 30s and highs in the 40s Sunday through Tuesday. Winds will be northeast 10 to 15 mph through Wednesday before increasing from the southwest 10 to 15 gusting to 25 mph Thursday.

 


 

EAST TEXAS (KYTX) -  Good Tuesday morning!  It's a cloudy, wet start to your work day. There is a 100% chance of rain by this afternoon through Thursday morning. A Flash Flood Watch will go into effect this evening for the Western counties in our viewing area. We can expect to see between 2 and 4 inches of rain before this system rolls east of us by Thursday morning. Expect highs today and tomorrow in the low to mid 50s.
