CHAPEL HILL/TITUS COUNTY (KYTX) - A two-vehicle wreck on Texas 49 east of Mount Pleasant claimed the life of a five-year-old child and left her mother and sister with serious injuries.

According to Texas Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Sylvia Jennings, 37-year-old Emmarie Dawn Adams was driving a 2010 Toyota Camry on Texas 49 when she tried to turn left on Titus County Road 4230, about three miles east of Mount Pleasant. Adams was rear-ended by a 1995 Dodge truck driven by 74-year-old Herbert Parr, of Mount Pleasant.

Adams' daughter, five-year-old Chloe Elizabeth Adams, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her other daughter, seven-year-old Emmarie Dawn Adams, was flown to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, while the mother was transported to Titus Regional Medical Center in Mount Pleasant.

Parr was not injured in the crash, Jennings said. The wreck occurred at about 6 p.m. Monday in Titus County's Chapel Hill community.
