SMITH COUNTY (KYTX) - Court documents show a former Smith County jailer "admitted" to chasing a man and beating him with his gun.

Yesterday we told you former Corporal Brandon Owens -- was accused of getting into a car chase, having a wreck, and then beating that man because he thought he stole his ladder.

Investigators say the ladder didn't belong to Owens to begin with.

Owens resigned from his position with the sheriff's department last week.
