Palestine police looking for man who committed armed robbery

EAST TEXAS (TYLER MORNING TELEGRAPH) - The Palestine Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying a man who allegedly robbed a dollar store at gunpoint Saturday evening.

At about 8:15 p.m., a black man allegedly went into the Family Dollar, in the 200 block of East Spring Street, demanding money from the cash registers, while armed with a gun, according to a news release from the department.

No one was injured in the incident, and the man left with an undetermined amount of cash.

The man was described by witnesses as about 6-feet-tall with a thin build, according to the release. He was wearing a white jacket, white gloves, dark pants and black shoes. He allegedly was armed with a black handgun and entered the building with T-shirt type of material covering his face.
