Kaufman County Sheriffs Office:

FORNEY (KYTX) - On January 8, 2013, a homeowner in the 1000 block of Bradford Lane called in a call for service regarding a burglary that had just occurred. At approximately 9 a.m. Tuesday, the homeowner was in her living room when the doorbell rang. She did not answer, not knowing who it was.

A few minutes later she was alerted to the fact that the suspect was trying to crawl through her bedroom window. When the homeowner screamed, the suspect fled the scene running toward Singletree Lane.

Deputies were able to get a good description of the suspect and short time later deputies found him at the intersection of Buckingham and Warrington in the subdivision of Windmill Farms.

Jon Anthony Southards, 25, of Forney was arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation.

Southards was transported to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center where bond is set at $75,000.00.
